I liked this article. She mentions how there are many bad things in the world but, she looks at the good things. The fact that we have come so far in technology and people have put together websites such as facebook, myspace, and youtube to bring everyone closer together! she states that you can watch movies and talk to other people! she is thanking us not scientist but the regular people out there that create these website.

I thought it was really interesting how Time chose you or me as person of the year. I agree with time in saying that we the people redefined the internet and made it a "massive social experiment". This really is a new geneartion and its oen where the commen person can make a diffrence(on the computer or in the real world).

Heather Phelps

I thought that this article was really interesting. The author talked about how there are so many things going on in the world that are attributed to just one person or group. But then she points out how much things are changing and how everyone is starting to make a difference. The Web is making it possible for everyone to easily make their voices heard. And it's not just famous people all over the web anymore...it's average people, and the web is becoming more personal. With all this technology, now everyone can contribute.

I think that this is a little bit ridiculous. I think that it has become to easy for people to put up nonsense. Because anyone can put up information on Wikipedia, it is not a reliable source. YouTube is just a funny/fun website, doesn't ever appear to me as enlightening or educational. Myspace, is to worldwide. It offers to people from almost any age group. For some, it is a place for sick, sexual predators to move in on little vulnerable kids. At a certain point it is unecessary for adults to be on the kids popular web-page. I think that these are all good websites, but most definetly not world changing websites.

matt arnsberger

I think it is amazing how any average day person can gain huge popularity by making a movie clip or posting on the web. You no longer need to be rich and famous to get your name out to the rest of the world. You can make and post videos of yourself quickly and inexpensively. It’s no longer about the rich and the famous; it’s now about the everyday person. The internet offers amazing possibilities, and technology only continues to grow.

This article changed a lot of my views on 2006. She pointed out a lot of things that I forgot about that happened last year, good and bad. Although there were a lot of lives lost and battles faught last year, we cannot forget about the things that were accomplished. Not only did scientists and researchers accomplish many things but we regular people also worked hard to have things done. So many people stay connected through websites like facebook, representing their school, and myspace. Not only should credit be given to the experts, but also to the regular people.

jeanne benedetti

I think that the article portrays very good things about the internet and how it can truly help people get recognized for their talents. Although things such as my space and you tube help people get attention, not all of the attetion is good. It is important for users to remember that not everything on the internet is true and not all publicity is good publicity. Although thigns such as YOUTube are funny they are not always educational so it is importnat to not spend all of one's time on these new age advances.

I think that is a great idea that one day a person decide to make a website that millions of people use there time watching and posting movies that people pay attention to so i like that idea cause I am one of those million people that like to get on the web and look at videos that a exciting to me

Karina Arias

I think that the article is intresting. It talks about the importance of the internet and how people stay connected on it. The internet allows people to communicate with others from around the world and it is a place were peole can express their thoughts, opinions, and experiences. Websites such as myspace show how millions of people go online and spend hours on the internet. Thanks to people like us the internet has evolved into what it is today.

Michael Boyd

It is really interesting how he internet is playing such a huge role in the world. It makes me wonder though, will everyone's lives be on the internet in, oh, 100 or so years? That is sort of like the Matrix. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but based on the Internet's exponential increase in power/influence, maybe something like the Matrix will actually happen. the Internet will rule us all.

Brendan Donnellan

I thought the article was intresting and that "Time" chose us as the person of the year. I think that with all the technology advances and being able to come up with websites like myspace, facebook and youtube, we should be the people of the year.

Steven Crane

I think it's amazing how much technology has grown in only a couple of years. As the article said, you can now communicate with your friends in many ways wether it be through Myspace, Facebook, Yahoo, or any blog site. The nickname Web 2.0 is the perfect fit for the present internet.

Molly McG

I think that this article puts a good perspective on the world and how it changed in 2006. youtube and facebook and myspace all came out and those people who invented them are no different than you and me. in the article it states the bad things that came out in 2006 like the war in Iraq but it also states the positive things that happened and truthfully i feel honored to be named the person of the year because we are the ones that blew up facebooka nd myspace.

Katie Pennington

I thought this article was interesting. I liked how the author points out that even one person can make a change in the world. The internet has definitely made it easier for people to voice their opinions.

Courtney Gaddi

I thought the article "Time Person of the Year" was very interesting and very honoring because "I" (you) was named person of the year. This article was in the beginning started to talk about the war and other negative things and then it came to talk about positive things such as communication between pepole and connecting people by Web 2.0, which seems revolutionizing. it includes facebook and myspace and youtube. Web 2.0 seems like a way for people to express themselves, be creative, have fun , and have no cares or worries. This is exciting and a perfect name for the new internet and it is a great honor to be named person of the year and know that I somehow contributed to this new revolution.

kevin nguyen

i think that this article was a very interesting read. i thought that it was a very cool thing that i was part of the person of the year. at first when it talked about Iraq, i thought that it would say all of the negative things happeniing in the year of 2006. but really, most of the article says all of the acomplishments in this world. i also found it interesting about how the internet has put an impact in our lives. i believe that there will be a new evolution that the internet will be the most important things in our minds. right now, people are already so hooked up with myspace, facebook, you tube, wikipedia, and much more. these are fun, creative, and very interesting.

Mary S.

When the article first summed up the year of 2006 it was really negative and depressing and I wasn't sure what to think, but after reading on I realized that one thing was flourishing- the world wide web. Personally I do not use the web a lot and I do not think that it will change the world for the better, but I did think it was interesting how the author viewed the web as a place for each person to make a contribution and make their voices heard.

Katie Kundrat

I thought it was very interesting for Time Magazine to chose Me as their person of the year. It is interesting how many people have become "famous" and gained recognition by posting their life or a movie clip on the world wide web. The web is no longer only a place to find gossip on celeberties or for research, it is a chance for the common person to express themself and perhaps make a difference. The Web is becoming a lot more personal and people are putting more and more of their time into it. I think many people find a way out through the internet. They are using it as one of the prime ways to express themselves to others, both their friends and those unknown.

Nicole Adam

This article is very interesting, I believe technology is a big part of today and the future. I also think the internet will help us achieve many tasks in the future, but there are some things that the internet will not be able to fix or change. For example the war in Iraq. The web isn't all positive. Their are some people on the internet that post false information and talk and get invovled with people they should not.

Georgie Stephens

I like how the author reminded us of all the negitive in the world, but once she got us good and depressed she reminded us about how collaboration and working together as a community has resluted in amazing technological advances. YouTube, MySpace, Facebook, and others are examples of how far technology as come, even in just the year 2006.

John Mitchell

This was a very intresting article to me. I dont really like how they compared violence to PlayStation3. I do like how they said that everyone was the person of the year because everyone in their own way made this world what is, and thats what makes it special

Jackie O

I like this article because it makes you realize things that you wouldn't realize on your own. The author reminds us of all of the bad things but then lets us know that by working together we can make technology advance to make the world a better place for us all.

I really enjoyed this article. It definitely hit the nail right on the head when it talked about the rise of the people, us, making a difference in 2006. I liked when the author talked about ordinary people beginning to rise up against the elite like Microsoft and working together to create great things like the huge information source that is Wikipedia. I like the idea of Web 2.0, because the internet has developed into something that will change the way we live forever. And using this new resource, anyone in the world can make a difference.
