I liked how the author told us and reminded us of many of the tradgeties in our world today, but yet also reminded us of the good in the world as well. I think the web has tauht and shown us a lot and i think it will continue to do so in the future. I think the upgrade in technology has grown very fast from 50 years ago, and I beleive it will move even faster in the next 50 years or so.

I thought this article was very interesting. It showed how myspace, facebook, and YOUtube are great ways to portray how Americans really live and what they like to do. Lev Grossman mentioned that the lives of Americans on modern day T.V. shows don't correctly portray the reality of peoples everyday lives.

I think that the choice for Time's Person of the Year was a very accurate and realistic one. Throughout the year 2006,there were many advances in the way people express their creativity and individualism on the computer. I think YouTube gives regular people like you and me the chance to show a little of our personality to others and it also gives people with different taste to view shows and skits that they enjoy. Now people can really identify themselves with others who are just like them. This portrays how real Americans act and live.

I am glad that a large magazine has recognized the importance of the common person, especially in today's world. With all the technology today, the common person can make a comment on a weblog and change people's minds. Today, the christian church has a podcast.

I really enjoyed this article. I liked Thomas Carlyle's "Great Man" theory, in which he says that "the history of the world is but a biography of men." I found it surprising how certain people were to blame for bad events in 2006 (i.e. war in Iraq). But 2006 was also a year in which everyone worked together as a community. I also liked how the article described the Web as being a tool that brings everyone's ideas together to make them matter. In addition, I also liked how WE are the TIME's person of the Year for 2006 because we "work for nothing" and "beat the pros at their own game!"

I think that this article focuses on the huge sites that are being overly used. First of all Wikipedia can be a "reliable source" but anyone can go on there and put up false information at times. Youtube can be used as anything, for instance entertainment, ideas, knowledge, and advertisement. These group websites such as Facebook and Myspace is just a way for people to contact eachother but it is completely pointless to have one because people have AIM and/or a cell phone. On the other hand I am glad that people get the time to have fun on the internet and take their time to be entertained or to learn something new.

i liked this article. i agree with the author that while people have done some bad things to tear people apart this year, we have also done many things to help bring people together. the article talks about how people have come together over the internet. today, it is regular people, and not professionals who are really using and contributing to the web. regular people have created or inspired some of the most popular and useful sites on the internet like facebook and myspace. these sites are just one way that regular people have helped everyone connect through the internet.

I enjoyed reading this article. It just shows how much that one person makes a difference in today's economy. It is good that ordinary people are getting this type of recognition. The way the author talked about war and then went on to talk about the good things of 2006 goes to show that it was a year of ups and downs. As far as the internet goes, however, much creativty was revealed with the outbreaks of the youtube.com's and the facebook.com's.

I enjoyed this article a lot because it made me realize how far technology has come in todays society. It makes me feel as tho I am important because I can discover somethin on the web and become famous for it. The thing that really stuck out to me however is that the 600 dollar PS3 sold out already and also the web is called web 2.0. The world today is a rapidly growing place and I just cant wait to see how far it will go.

Time magizine making us the person of the year is a big step foward. Everyone can contribute to the web now. Myspace and Youtube connect people from around the world.Although so many bad things are going on today it is good that, there are some things that we can find common ground in.

I liked the article especially because it spoke alot about the truths of the new internet. I agreed with time magazine that us people did contribute to the internet 2.0 because now we are open to do many things with this new internet like posting our own comments about things, and using things like myspace and youtube to post things about our own stuff.

Its crazy to think the impact a single person can have on the world with new ingenious ideas such as facebook.com, myspace.com, and youtube and etc. The world has been dramatically changed due to these sorts of things and all these ideas came from people like you and me. Thank you Time Magazine for giving credit where credit is due.
