I read an article on a "Greener Apple." It was about how Apple has been criticized by some environmental organizations for not being a leader in removing toxic chemicals from its new products, and for not aggressively or properly recycling its old products. It also mentions what Apple is doing to remove toxic chemicals from their new products, and to more aggressively recycle their old products. This was the first time Apple has openly discussed their plans to become a greener Apple. They will also be providing updates on their efforts and accomplishments annually.

I read an article called: "'Babel Gets Odd Reception in Japan". The article talks about how since the release of the movie in Japan, there have been over 50 cases of people experiencing nausea after watching the movie. This reaction has been repoted in several venues, but there is still no answer as to why the movie is casuing this reaction. Because the number of people experinceing this side effect continues to increase,a warning had to be issued to the public telling them that they may feel ill after seeing the movie. One thing they beleive may be causing this effect is an aporximately one minute long scene in which one of the characters is dancing in a nightclub with strobe lights. Distributors worry that this side effect could prevent people from seeing the movie in theatres.

I read an articles talking about how they are trying to make a drop down menu for switching toolbars instead of all of them appearing in the browser toolbar at the top of each web page. I think this is a good idea even though it only works for certain powered toolbars. It seems like a interesting feature and I would be interested in seeing how it works.

I read the article Bay Bridge Traffic Problems Could Lead More Workers To Telecommuting, and I thought it was intresting to see the impact of the recent gas truck collapse of a bridge in Oakland, CA. The collapse of this bridge has made people worried about commutes to work. This has brought on the recent discussion of telecommuting. This way, people would be able to do their work at home with the use of telecommunication. Telecommunicating companies are upset that people would be using it plainly for emergency cases. I think telecommunicating is a good thing which would help save a lot of time.

The military is cutting the popular website Myspace from its oversea users claiming that it is too much of a problem. Since it is so popular with the soldiers it slows their internet capabilities and can cause security problems. The soldiers enjoyed the website because they could communicate back home with their families and friends and sites like youtube allowed them to see videos of their accomplishments on the battlefield. Many critics of the idea feel that the new ban is designed to keep negative news away from the states but this can damage the positive image as well. It is just another hardship that the soldiers overseas have to face and hopefully it will not hurt their moral too greatly.

The article i read from Newgator was about how shopping at a Mac store is different from shopping at any other store. It is about how they try to sell you the best product and not the most expensive product. Mac introduced 3 new services to their store. They added a one to one personal training service. You can also book a reservation at the store of your choice up to 14 days in advance.A trainer then creates a program customized to your needs and level of experience. There's also a new Personal Shopping service offered free of charge.
